Wallace Falls State Park 14503 Wallace Lake Road, Gold Bar, WA 98251

Wallace Falls State Park is a hiker’s paradise tucked in the Cascade foothills. The crown jewel of Wallace Falls is the three-tiered, 265-foot waterfall plunging over moss-covered rock and through magical woodland scenery. You can hike up to the lower, middle, and upper viewpoints to see this spectacular waterfall up close, or catch glimpses of it through the trees as you walk along Woody Trail. The great part about this park is that Wallace Falls and Wallace River aren’t the only bodies of water to work toward on your hikes. Take Greg Ball Trail several miles to Wallace and Jay Lakes, passing old-growth forest and mossy clearings along the way. With permits and the right equipment, you can also access backcountry campsites near Wallace and Jay Lakes. The park has 17 total miles of hiking and biking trails, which means you may want to stay a little longer to explore. Set up tents at one of the first-come, first-serve sites or reserve one of the five cozy cabins in advance. This park is also particularly magical in the wintertime when you can tackle the trails in your snowshoes.
