SUN LAKES-DRY FALLS STATE PARK 34875 Park Lake Road NE, Coulee City, WA 99115

Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park sits at the base of a massive cliff that once held the world’s largest waterfall, four times larger than Niagara Falls. During the Ice Age floods thousands of years ago, water thundered over this 400-foot drop, carving out the surrounding landscape of canyons, coulees, and cliffs you see today. Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park offers sweeping desert vistas and a shady oasis beside shimmering Park Lake. Boaters and swimmers cool off in this lake next to the main campground, while Deep Lake a short drive south gives paddlers a peaceful escape to listen to the sounds of the desert. Also featured in the Sun Lakes chain is Dry Falls Lake just outside the park, which attracts anglers hoping for a good trout catch. These lakes occupy coulees left behind by the Ice Age floods and connected by groundwater and small waterways. Campers also have fun playing miniature golf or using the nine-hole golf course at Sun Lakes Resort within the state park.
