Stuart Island Marine State Park, one of the northernmost islands in the San Juan archipelago, is a water-access-only beauty waiting to be explored. Turquoise coves, rugged hillsides, and pebble beaches cover this beautiful little island. Hikers will enjoy trekking up to the restored 1893 Turn Point Light Station just outside the park. There are 14 primitive campsites and four Cascadia Marine Trail campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as two harbors where boaters drop anchor and sleep on their boats. During the day, visitors fish, crab, and swim in the dazzling blue water. Motor boats should enter Prevost Harbor from the west end of Satellite Island. The east end is much more shallow and suitable for kayaks.
