Learn about the fascinating geology and history of Mount St. Helens and enjoy forested camping at Seaquest State Park. Seaquest lies on the shoreline of Silver Lake, a shallow lake created by one of Mount St. Helens’ ancient eruptions which dammed Silver Creek. Campers enjoy hiking or biking the trails of pine and wetland walks around the lake featuring views of Mount St. Helens. A short pedestrian tunnel connects visitors to Mount St. Helens Interpretive Center, which takes you through the volcano’s early years to the 1980 eruption that is known as the most destructive volcanic eruption in U.S. history. The visitor center features presentations from park rangers, interpretive exhibits, documentary film showings, and much more. In addition to tent camping spots, Seaquest State Park also has heated yurts available for rent, each of which can sleep five people.
