The Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail (PTCT) is a 251-mile trail that runs all the way from North Bend to the Idaho border. With many access points, environments, and scenery to explore, this trail provides all the Washington adventure you need. In the west, you have the lush and green Cascade mountains with wetlands and old-growth. The trail then stretches east through the ranchlands of the Kittitas Valley, across the Columbia River, and up to the golden Palouse hills. The trail sits on a historic railroad corridor, with remnants of the railroad including train depots at South Cle Elum and Kittias. You can hike or bike this trail in one-day sections or take it long-distance if you’re adventurous. The diverse environments also create plenty of recreational opportunities along the trail, including cross-country skiing, rock climbing, and freshwater fishing. There is camping available along at the way at Lake Easton State Park and Wanapum Recreation Area.
