Manchester State Park 7767 E Hilldale Rd, Port Orchard, WA 98366

Manchester State Park is a historic Puget Sound camping park on Rich Passage, filled with fir and maple forests and a fascinating military history. While it was originally constructed as a U.S. Coast Artillery harbor defense post called Middle Point to protect Bremerton shipyards, it’s now a year-round camping park complete with ball fields, horseshoe pits, and an interpretive trail. The U.S. Navy used Middle Point up until 1958 to create an underwater minefield in Rich Passage. The original early 20th century brick “torpedo” warehouse, which used to store equipment for the minefield, is still used as a picnic and event space today. It’s hard to beat the beachwalks across the beautiful shoreline that overlooks Bainbridge Island, so it’s no wonder people choose to hold their weddings and other special events at this park.
