2000 NW Sammamish Road, Issaquah, WA 98027

Lake Sammamish State Park is a gem for the local community and others who travel to visit. This park isn’t too far from Seattle, but offers pristine lakeside beaches, hiking trails through the forest, and ballfields. The park also boasts a brand-new playground the kids will love. If you’re looking for playtime for the lake instead, look no further than the paddleboard or kayak rentals from Lake Sammamish Paddle Company at Tibbetts Beach. Great blue herons and bald eagles nest here in the wetlands, and you can follow the paved paths and gravel trails for a chance to spot them. This park and Lake Sammamish at large served as a gathering place for Native American tribes for centuries, including for winter festivals called “potlatches.” Today, Lake Sammamish State Park hosts year-round community events, like summer concerts and cycling events. There is so much to explore at Lake Sammamish. Come and be a part of the community here!

The free Accessible Adventures: A Disabled Hiker’s Guide to 5 Washington State Parks features detailed descriptions of wheelchair accessible trails, accessible activities like picnic shelters, beaches and park facilities at Lake Sammamish. Additionally, Outdoors for All provides adaptive bike rentals for people with disabilities, including recumbent trikes, handcycles, and tandems at the park.
