Jones Island, WA
Jones Island Marine State Park is a small, rugged island off the western coast of Orcas Island. The rocky outcrops and grassy clearings attract all sorts of wildlife, including deer and otters. You might spot some as you take the island’s wheelchair-accessible trail through moss-drenched trees to a small apple and pear orchard. There are several first-come, first-served cliffside campsites available, with the campsites on the west side of the island designated for those arriving by kayak or human-powered vessel. You’ll never forget the views you see when you pop your head out the tent in the morning.
