Ike Kinswa is a beautiful lakeside state park that promises fun for the whole family. Set on the Mayfield Lake Reservoir, you can take part in all the classic lake activities at Ike Kinswa, including boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming. Although the park is surrounded by farmland, a quiet forest canopy envelops the park itself, making for an idyllic getaway. Fishing is popular on Mayfield Lake; catch an array of fish from rainbow trout to largemouth bass. There is plenty to do and you might want to stay awhile, whether it be in tents or a cozy lakeside cabin.

This park was originally named Mayfield Lake State Park, but was later renamed for Isaac Ike Kinswa, a member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. Today’s Ike Kinswa State Park sits on the traditional lands of the Cowlitz Indians, which were taken by the U.S. government in the mid-1800s. Many of Ike Kinswa’s descendants and other Cowlitz Indian Tribe members live in the area today.
