Ebey’s Landing State Park is a day-use park on Whidbey Island’s west coast, set atop a high bluff with sweeping views of the Puget Sound. Don’t let the small size of this park fool you. The Bluff Trail, a loop that follows the grassy bluff and descends to the beach, is the perfect place to watch the sky turn golden as the sun dips below the horizon. Park near the shoreline at the end of Ebey’s Landing Road and enjoy some beach time before heading up the bluff. This park is part of Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve, a cooperative partnership between the National Park Service, Island County, and the town of Coupeville, which protects historic central Whidbey. Due to this, parts of the bluff trail traverse private property. This park preserves ocean beach access for the public between Fort Ebey and Fort Casey State Parks, which aren’t too far away and both offer camping if you’d like to stay and enjoy all the beautiful state parks in the area.
