Camano Island State Park offers beautiful views of some Western Washington classics — the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainier, and the Puget Sound. Immerse yourself in this Pacific Northwest gem by relaxing on the beach, winding through forested loop trails, or crabbing and fishing. Camano Island is a camping park with 88 standard campsites, including options for RV hookups. There are also cabins available with rustic furniture made of wood milled straight from the park. Many types of wildlife call Camano Island home, including deer, rabbits, and chipmunks. If you’re lucky, you might spot orcas, harbor seals, or grey whales out in the water.

Camano Island State Park was created in the 1940s to address the lack of public access to the beautiful shoreline for the Camano Island community. 500 volunteers from the community, including those from local businesses who had given their employees the time off, came together to build initial park facilities in one summer day in 1949.
