Ike Kinswa is the busiest and most iconic state parks in Washington, attracting many families with youth to visit the 454-acre park next to the shores of Mayfield Lake amidst an idyllic forest setting. Donors helped fund “Adventure Backpacks” for kids exploring nature at Ike Kinswa, complete with binoculars, writing and coloring utensils, notebooks, compasses, constellation charts, books such as the Peterson First Guide to Rocks and Minerals, flora/fauna guides, and magnifying glasses.
These backpacks help spark learning and curiosity about nature for kids. They also increase accessibility of nature exploration, especially for first-time park visitors.
