Washington State Parks are for everyone, but studies show visitors are less diverse than the general Washington State population. The Washington State Parks Foundation's mission is to make parks welcoming to all, thus, we sought to understand what barriers first-time, underserved, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) visitors face when accessing parks. This 2021 study on barriers and solutions to park accessibility is the result of a collaboration between the Washington State Parks Foundation, University of Washington researchers, and MIG, Inc.
