Skagit Island, WA

Skagit Island Marine State Park features camping for boaters and paddlers on a rugged, forested Puget Sound island. The island is covered in madrone and Douglas fir trees, rocky outcroppings, and wildflower-studded meadows. Half of the island is dense old-growth forest. It is a truly magical and tranquil escape. You can reach the island by kayaking from Cornet Bay in Deception Pass State Park or boating through Skagit Bay. The northwest side of the island has two mooring buoys where those who want to stay on their boats can tie up. There is one primitive campsite and a first-come, first-serve Cascadia Marine Trail campsite on the island.
