Set on the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River, Olallie State Park features dense green forest trails and magical waterfall viewpoints. The six miles of hiking trails are moderate, making for just a challenging enough experience and sights that will make your efforts well worth it. The Twin Falls trail winds through a lush, old-growth forest to a 135-foot waterfall crashing down over a rocky cliff. This park also attracts long-distance hikers, since the Cedar Falls trailhead connects to the 551-mile Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail.
Olallie has so many opportunities for outdoor recreation beyond hiking. Swimmers Olallie Trail, a 20 mile backcountry route, is perfect for mountain bikers looking for an uphill challenge. Seattle’s rock climbers often head to Ollalie to tackle the Deception Crags and Far Side Crags. Hotter days call for cooling off in the river, and South Fork Picnic Area has the perfect swimming hole. Anglers also set themselves up along the South Fork to catch rainbow and cutthroat trout.
