Lake Isabella State Park is a peaceful day-use park near Shelton, with plenty of open fields and farm history. This park has four miles of gentle trails that wind through fields and forests and old orchard land. Take a picnic lunch or simply stop for a relaxed stroll, a breath of fresh air, and pretty views. You might even spot herds of deer known to graze these lands. The northern trails pass through an old homestead and fields, with the occasional lake view, and connect to the trails in the south of the park which follow an old farm road. These trails are quieter in the morning and make for a great place for birding.
